Description

Realization description

Relief glass formed from sheet glass is an original variant of fusing. The method makes it possible to form glass reliefs from models first made in clay, while retaining translucency, optical depth and the character of the relief.

Original fusing method

Glass softened at high temperature records the relief and texture of the form. The effect stays close to a sculptural cast while preserving the translucency and optical depth specific to glass.

Thickness and backing

Thickness and backing

The method allows work with glass sheets approximately 1 mm to 20 mm thick, also in large formats, most often at 6-15 mm. Additional backing limits the risk of fragments scattering after mechanical damage and allows the works to be used in outdoor displays as well.
